I am not saying its impossible, it simply has never been tested by me, so doing so is on your own risk. But if you do use the S3TC textures for mapping than carefully check the map online and see if it caused problems upfront you release it.In addition to above, you need an editor that supports dds textures. Unlike the 2nd CD S3TC textures that came with UT, these S3TC packages do NOT contain a low and high resolution texture. It either contains a low resolution texture OR a high resolution texture but never both!The editor that comes with patch 227 for Unreal has the capability to handle dds textures as well as a small range of other formats. I asume that the team that developed the 227 patch tested this thoroughly so you can safelly asume it will work.
