Getting Started:

 

There are 3 types of OBD II Interface to use.  The following interface will work with this version of OBD Scan Tech.

 

·                      OBDSCAN Protocol Converter (Tested Using Firmware Version 2.16)

·                      BR3 Protocol Converter

·                      JEFF Protocol Converter (Auto Detection Will Not Detect This.  Must Set It Manually)

 

Connecting using OBDSCAN Protocol Converter then follow these steps.

 

1.  Plug in the OBD II Connector from OBDSCAN Protocol Converter to the vehicles OBD II Port. (Usually under driver side dash

     or some may be hidden behind ashtray or few of them are on passenger side dash.

             

2.  Plug in the Serial Connector from OBDSCAN Protocol Converter to the Computer Serial Port.

 

              3.  Make sure the Key Is On.

 

4.  Then you may run the OBD Scan Tech Software and Press F8 or select VEHICLE then CONNECT or just click on the

                   Toolbar Icon with the GREEN CHECK MARK ICON.

             

              5.  OBD Scan Tech Software should connect within 15 seconds or it will timeout.             

 

Connecting using BR3 Protocol Converter then follow these steps.

 

1.  Plug in the OBD II Connector from BR3 Protocol Converter to the vehicles OBD II Port. (Usually under driver side dash

     or some may be hidden behind ashtray or few of them are on passenger side dash.

             

2.  Plug in the Serial Connector from BR3 Protocol Converter to the Computer Serial Port.

 

              3.  Make sure the Key Is On.

 

4.  Then you may run the OBD Scan Tech Software and Press F8 or select VEHICLE then CONNECT or just click on the

                   Toolbar Icon with the GREEN CHECK MARK ICON.

             

              5.  OBD Scan Tech Software should connect within 15 seconds or it will timeout.

 

Connecting using JEFF Protocol Converter then follow these steps.

 

1.  Plug in the OBD II Connector from JEFF Protocol Converter to the vehicles OBD II Port. (Usually under driver side dash

     or some may be hidden behind ashtray or few of them are on passenger side dash.

             

2.  Plug in the Serial Connector from JEFF Protocol Converter to the Computer Serial Port.

 

              3.  Make sure the Key Is On.

 

4.  Then you may run the OBD Scan Tech Software and Press F8 or select VEHICLE then CONNECT or just click on the

                   Toolbar Icon with the GREEN CHECK MARK ICON.

             

              5.  OBD Scan Tech Software should connect within 12 seconds or it will timeout.
