SERVICE MENU WITHOUT REMOTE CONTROL ----------------------------------- (Thanks to alekstix for the idea, to val238 for the news and to Fernsehtechniker for full tests) Here some ways to enter into the service menu without the usage of remote control. Tested with an RH2000 series recorder, but I think they could work also for other series of recorders (e. g. RH3000 ?). Operation on Recorder (nearly) without RemContr 1) Switch Recorder on without Disk in Drive 2) Press CLEAR RemContr. and EJECT Recorder > 6s . or . CLEAR RemContr. and PROGR DOWN Recorder > 6s 3) PROGR DOWN or EJECT = Cursor Position cyclically forward 4) PROGR UP = OP Code value cyclically upwards 5) STOP or ENTER = OK (= WRITE) 6) Recorder ON/OFF = MP=MENU/LIST: Quit Menu 6a) Step 6) without step 5) . = Quit Menu without saving/changes 7) Switch Recorder on by ON/OFF button Operation on Recorder (really) without RemContr (1) 1) Switch Recorder on without Disk in Drive 2) Press first EJECT then ON/OFF, both > 6s . Tray opens, Menu appears . Release first ON/OFF then EJECT 3) EJECT = Cursor Position cyclically forward 4) PLAY = OP Code value cyclically upwards 5) --- 6) Press ON/OFF and quickly three times REC (*) . = Save changes, Recorder switches off 6a) Only ON/OFF = Quit Menu without saving/changes 7) Switch Recorder on by ON/OFF button (*) You have to keep ON/OFF pressed, but not too long, then "quickly three times REC". Operation on Recorder (really) without RemContr (2) 1) Switch Recorder on without Disk in Drive 2) Press first EJECT then ON/OFF, both > 6s . Tray opens, Menu appears . Release first ON/OFF then EJECT 3) EJECT = Cursor Position cyclically forward 4) PLAY = OP Code value cyclically upwards 5) STOP = OK (= WRITE) 6) Recorder ON/OFF = Quit Menu 6a) Step 6) without step 5) . = Quit Menu without saving/changes 7) Switch Recorder on by ON/OFF button
