Intro
We’re rounding off this warp speed year with
another mad dash around the planet starting
in the UK and stopping off at Cyprus, Japan,
Australia and the good ol’ USofA with a range of
car features, technical features, event reports
and more.
Over the previous issues of evolution we’ve
rarely featured Evo4s – they seem to be the model
that gets glossed over as they aren’t one of the
first generation cars, nor are they the more sought
after Evo V or VI. Thanks to Craig Ledsam and
Will Gould that could soon change though, as the
cars they’ve created are both masterpieces based
here in the UK, albeit equally at home tearing up
the tarmac or on show!
Although based in Cyprus a lot of people will
have seen the LCE Evo at Time Attack events
here in the UK throughout 2016. The flat black
and orange VI has dominated its class and is a
testament to Pani and his team’s dedication to
build a winning car and we’re very pleased to be
able to show you more than you usually see as it’s
ripping round the racetrack.
Staying with Time Attack, Australia brings us
the World Time Attack review from Sydney, as well
the first our technical features courtesy of MLR
Trader ECK Performance Ignitions – where MD
James Higginson gives us all the lowdown on the
importance of a bright spark... after all, without
‘ignition’ you have nothing!
Heading North to Japan, Anthony Cox takes
us on another visit to one of the last remaining
Ralliart Pit (specialist workshop or dealer), this
time in Kobe central Japan, and shows us round
the place whilst pondering the future for these
wonderful establishments.
Across the Pacific there’s nothing better than
the California sunshine to bring out the best
car displays, and the Mitsubishi Owners Day at
Mitsubishi HQ in Cypress saw Evos dominate once
again. We’ll be featuring some of these cars in
future issues!
A quick hop back across the ‘Pond’ returns us to
the UK, the second tech feature this time from Opie
Oils – the first in a series from the oil gurus – and
of course the final rounds from the MLR Sprint
Series, not to mention all the regional reports from
around the UK.
It’s been a hectic but enjoyable year which will
roll straight into 2017, but not before we’ve all
caught our breath over the forthcoming festive
holiday – which will sadly be over by the time this
issue hits your doormat.
I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and look
forward to seeing you sometime somewhere
