Celebrating the successful kickstarter campaign of "Elite Dangerous", the very first EP release of 2013 is a tribute to the music of both the original, revolutionary 1984 videogame by David Braben and Ian Bell. In the original game case, music was only one and on the Amiga version (I had previously played the ZX Spectrum one), Strauss's "Blue Danube" has you engaged the autopilot to dock on a coriolis station. A tip of the hat to Stanley Kubricks "2001: A Space Odyssey" which I had not seen back then. Much like the original game, the score was also expanded to the sequel and one of the most influential games in my life "Frontier: Elite II". Besides new classic compositions by Mussorgsky, Wagner, Grieg the main theme by David Lowe was simply amazing, playing along the intro Of the game that showed off perfectly why "Elite" was such an epic undertaking. I hope this EP brings you great memories of such times, when games with millions of star systems would fit in a diskette and hope to join all in 2014 as we undock from Lave in our Cobra MKIII in "Elite Dangerous"!
