istorically, the August print issue of
Tech & Learning
is
my favorite for many reasons: 1) As you read this, I am
most likely on a beach; 2) The crazy marathon of ISTE
is over; but most importantly, 3) Thanks to our advisors
and contributors, we have the largest, most insightful
analyses of the state of education technology from
which to share with you.
From Carl Hooker, director of innovation & digital learning at
Eanes ISD (TX), who details takeaways from our June Leadership
Summit (p. 30), to Eileen Belastock, director of academic technology
for Mount Greylock RSD (MA), who breaks down her ISTE18
experience (p. 11), to our esteemed panel of (formerly) anonymous judges, who scour the exhibition
floor to decide our annual Best of ISTE Awards, this issue and our accompanying content online, is
IMHO the most comprehensive coverage of this year’s largest US-based edtech event.
Another great thing about this time of year is that all
of the great ideas generated in Chicago will start to get
implemented next month, which gives us the opportunity
to follow our advisors’ progress. We’re planning to
report how their inspirations turn into action, through
